CP Ahmed Sanusi Assumes Duty as 35th FCT Commissioner of Police

Date:

CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi has assumed duty as the 35th Commissioner of Police (CP) for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command.

Sanusi took over from CP Miller G. Dantawaye, who has been elevated to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) and redeployed to another assignment by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu.

A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Josephine Adeh, on Tuesday in Abuja, said the new CP brings decades of professional policing experience to his new role.

Born on May 20, 1972, in Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State, Sanusi enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police in May 2000.

Following his training, he was posted to the Niger State Police Command in 2001, where he began his policing career.

Prior to his appointment, Sanusi served as the Commander of the Nigeria Police Force Intelligence Response Team (IRT).

The statement said that as the new FCT CP, Sanusi had pledged to strengthen existing security frameworks and improve community-police relations across the territory.

The command urged residents of the FCT to continue supporting the police in maintaining peace, law and order.

Sanusi is married with children and is described as a committed and dedicated officer.
