Husk Power Systems has clinched the 2026 Future Energy Leaders Awards (FELAS) Technovator Award, with a call on energy industry players to prioritise compliance with global best practices to drive sustainable growth and innovation.
The company earned the recognition for its pioneering technology-driven renewable energy solutions aimed at expanding access to clean and reliable electricity in underserved communities across Africa and Asia.
According to a statement issued by the company, its artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled distributed energy resources (DER) platform delivers round-the-clock power while fostering socio-economic development, supporting local businesses, and contributing to climate-positive outcomes.
The FELAS, organised by Enersider Markets Media, is regarded as India’s premier platform for recognising energy innovators and sustainability leaders. The awards cover key sectors including renewable energy, green hydrogen, natural gas, power utilities, climate action, bioenergy, sustainable infrastructure, and battery storage/e-mobility.
Reacting to the award, Husk Power’s Country Director for Nigeria and Vice President, Business Development, West Africa, Mr. Olu Aruike, expressed appreciation to the organisers for the recognition.
“We accept this award with gratitude and appreciate the organisers’ recognition of our efforts in advancing energy access, boosting local incomes, and shaping a greener future in the Global South,” Aruike said.
He dedicated the award to organisations that uphold global best practices, stressing that adherence to standards remains critical for sustainable growth, particularly in emerging and unpredictable markets.
“We hope this recognition inspires emerging companies to adopt this mindset, as it is the only pathway to true growth and scalability,” he added.
Aruike noted that compliance has been central to Husk Power’s operations since its establishment in 2008, enabling the company to build trust, achieve growth, and expand from Asia into Africa.
He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to deploying advanced solar and energy storage solutions to deliver 24/7 electricity, enhance operational efficiency, and create long-term value.

The 2026 FELAS ceremony was held on March 23 at Le Méridien, New Delhi, bringing together key stakeholders in the energy sector for an evening of recognition, networking, and discussions on advancing global energy transition.
