Adamawa bye-election: Emmanuel Bello picks APC nomination form

 As the deadline for the collection and submission of the governorship forms for the Adamawa state governorship bye-election draws nearer, former member of the House of Representatives, Hon Emmanuel Bello, has picked the ‘All Progressives Congress (APC) expression of Interest Form.

Bello, who picked his form at the national secretariat of the APC, said he was ready for the party’s primary and that he was confident of getting its nomination. He said, “I’m here to purchase the nomination form to contest the governorship primary in Adamwa State.

“I have decided to join the race to save Adamawa from further degeneration of health and education systems that have collapsed in the state.

“Unfortunately, the security situation is not helping matters, and for that reason, we sat down and thought over it and said ‘look, if APC is the party of hope, it’s the progressive party that wants to unite Nigerians; it’s the party that wants to bring about change, we should aspire under the APC in order to find a lasting solution to our state.

“In our state today, over three million youths are unemployed. If you’re driving along the roads, all you see in the villages are youths sitting; they’re not even farming. We have ample of arable land in Adamawa State. If government comes in and organise the farmlands and educate the youths on modern techniques of farming, you can now develop farms and form cooperative organisations for them and give them on the basis of families. You’ll find out that the families will be engaged,” he said.

Others in the race who have obtained their nomination form include Senator Ahmed Hassan Barata, representing Adamawa south senatorial district, Senator Bindawa Jibrilla, representing Adamawa central. All the aspirants are to be screened by the party while those who are dissatisfied with the outcome will face the appeal committee.
