Police Week: Police, REMASAB conduct environmental sanitation, tree planting exercise in Kano LG

The Kano State Police Command today commemorated Police Week with a community-focused environmental sanitation and tree planting exercise in Fagge Local Government Area.
The event, held on Monday, 30 March 2026, at Dandalin Fagge, brought together key stakeholders, including the Managing Director of REMASAB, Dr. Muhammad S. Khalil; the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command; traditional rulers; and other distinguished personalities.
The initiative underscored a shared commitment between security agencies and the community to promote environmental sustainability and public health.
As part of activities marking Police Week, the exercise aimed to strengthen Police Community Relations while raising awareness on the importance of environmental sanitation and afforestation as critical tools for safeguarding the environment.
In his remarks, the Managing Director of REMASAB, Dr. Muhammad S. Khalil, expressed appreciation to the Kano State Police Command for selecting Fagge Local Government Area for the initiative.
He commended the Command’s proactive approach to integrating environmental stewardship into its community engagement efforts.
Dr. Khalil further highlighted the ongoing efforts of the Kano State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, in advancing sustainable development and improving environmental sanitation across the state.
He emphasized the need for collective responsibility and called on residents to actively support sanitation and tree planting initiatives in line with the government’s vision.
Dr. Khalil also conveyed his gratitude to the Governor for introducing progressive policies and programmes aimed at enhancing environmental protection and cleanliness across Kano State.
The event concluded successfully, reinforcing the importance of collaboration in building a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environment.
