The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Bauchi Region, says it has commenced a 26 days maintenance of its Jos–Bauchi–Gombe 330kV Transmission Line, during which there will be power outage in some areas across six states.
The states are Bauchi, Gombe, Yobe, Borno, Adamawa, and Taraba.
In a statement issued on Thursday by its General Manager, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, the TCN said the maintenance commenced today and will last till May 22, 2026.
“TCN hereby notifies the public of a planned maintenance exercise on its Jos–Bauchi–Gombe 330kV Transmission Line. The exercise will take place today, Thursday to Sunday each week, effective from April 9 to May 22, 2026, between 9 am and 6 pm.
“The maintenance is to enable TCN contractors commence the stringing of Optical Ground Wire (OPGW) along the 276km Jos–Bauchi–Gombe single-circuit 330kV line.
“Consequently, Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC) and Jos Electricity Distribution Company (JEDC) will be unable to off-take electricity to customers in Bauchi, Gombe, Damaturu, Maiduguri, Yola, Jalingo, and surrounding areas during the period.
“TCN apologises for any inconvenience this will cause electricity customers in the affected areas,” the statement added.
