A coalition of progressive indigenes of Yobe State and their supporters have called on Baba Malam Wali to contest the 2027 governorship election in the state.
The group also described him as the most suitable candidate to lead the state toward inclusive development and administrative excellence.
In a statement signed by the group coordinator, Hussaini Abdullahi, highlighted that, Baba Wali has decades of experience as a seasoned administrator with a distinguished record in public service.
Abdullahi said, Baba Wali began his career in Borno State as a Principal Research Officer in 1989 and later served as Personal Secretary to the Military Governor in 1990, gaining early exposure to high-level governance and policy coordination.
“In Yobe State, Baba Malam Wali has built an exceptional career defined by dedication, experience, and integrity,” the statement read.
“He served in various strategic capacities under the North-East Zone Agricultural Programme (NEZAP), rising from Term Coordinator to Deputy Programme Manager and later Programme Manager.”
