Police Neutralize 50 Bandits In Zamfara

The Zamfara State Police Command has announced that no fewer than 50 bandits been neutralized in a gun battle in ‘Yar Katsinan Laka, a village under Bungudu local government area of the state few weeks ago.
This was declared by the new deployed Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmad Muhammad Bello at Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Zamfara State Council Secretariat on Wednesday during familiarization visit paid to the NUJ Council executives and Correspondents’ Chapel.
CP Bello opined that, just barely one week of his resumption as Commissioner of Police in the state couple of weeks ago, there was an attack by bandits on ‘Yar Katsinan Laka, a village under Bungudu local government area where the Command lost two Police personnel and one other injured who has since been hospitalized at one of the federal government hospitals.
According to him, in the course of heavy fire fights at ‘Yar Katsinan Laka just few weeks ago, eleven bandits were neutralized during first attack launched on the village while other thirty nine more of them were also deleted by the gallant Police personnel during their subsequent attack.
“We received an intelligence that the bandits would come back to the same village for reprisal, and we quickly reviewed the security architecture that did not give room for that, at this juncture, I am assuring good people of Zamfara State that the narrations will change very soon”, CP Bello has assured.
He reiterated that, with the reviewed security architecture, no senior Police Officer should remain reclining chairs and enjoying air conditions in the office, but must be out as the junior Officers are out there working to restore peace in the state.
CP Bello while responding to a question fielded by Journalists, said both the federal and state governments have jointly assured welfare of personnel serving at war front which was aimed at boosting their morale in the fights against security challenges, their hazard allowances and life insurance cover, as well as giving adequate care for their families.
CP Ahmad Bello, has assured that with the current improved synergy with other sister agencies operating in the state, the narrations will change in the next couple of weeks.
The Commissioner further revealed that, he recently met with the state governor to discussed issues on security for the state, during the meeting, “I recommended that all abandoned trees by the roads sides located at some areas in the state should be removed as they give the bandits a cover and shield to carry out their nasty operations.
