Institutional Transformation: Al-Hikmah University holds retreat in Ilorin

Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, the first Islamic faith based university in Nigeria on Tuesday commenced a three-day Strategic Planning Retreat to reposition the institution for sustainable growth and transformation.

In his opening remarks at the event in Ilorin, Prof. Lateef Oladimeji, the Vice-Chancellor, stated that the purpose of the retreat is to delibrate on three critical areas that will shape the future of the university.

Oladimeji said that the three areas include soliciting for redoubled support and solidarity from all stakeholders in order to align vision with action, funding challenges and prospects of Nigeria private universities.

He said that the event is to develop academic curriculum innovation and youth empowerment that will transform the university.

Oladimeji said the meeting will seek to equip the present generation of students with practical and relevant skills that will make them compete globally.

Key stakeholders of the university at the event included the Pro – Chancellor, Alhaja Sekinat Yusuf, Former Vice-Chancellor, University of Ilorin, Prof. Age Sulaiman, principal officers, academic leaders, and administrative staff of the university.

The theme of the retreat is “Strategic Repositioning for Institutional Transformation and Sustainability of Al-Hikmah University” .
