The command spokesperson, DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, made this known in a statement issued on Sunday in Katsina.

He said that the suspected motorcycle thief, Abdulra’uf Salisu, alias Dukiya, 27, was earlier arrested by operatives attached to the command’s Anti-Kauraye unit.

Aliyu said the motorcycle belonging to one Isma’il Ibrahim was recovered and the main suspect arrested, while his accomplice, one Abba, is on the run.

“The bribe was immediately rejected, and the cash was documented as an exhibit. Mustapha Nasiru is currently in custody and will be charged to court for offering a bribe to public officers, contrary to Section 118 of the Penal Code Law.”

Aliyu said that the state Commissioner of Police, Ali Umar Fage, has commended the investigating team for their professionalism and integrity.

He reiterated the Command’s zero tolerance for crime and corruption, warning that anyone who attempts to obstruct justice will face the full weight of the law.
