A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sen. Shehu Buba has vowed to lead the party to victory and to reclaim Bauchi state from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2027 governorship election.
Buba who spoke to newsmen shortly after collecting his nomination forms for the primary election said the state is going to experience a new lease of life if he becomes the governor.
“I thank God for allowing us to witness another cycle of elections. As we have seen, I am physically present to obtain my nomination forms, which I have now done.
“We stand a very good chance to take over Bauchi from the ruling PDP. I am optimistic because Bauchi is an APC state, and you can attest to that. The PDP government has failed the people of Bauchi.
“Being the first person to obtain the form as an aspirant, be rest assured that, if I get the ticket, we will send the PDP out of the Government House.
The APC has scheduled the governorship primaries for the 21 of May, 2026.
