A socio-political group, Enforcers of Good Governance, has advised the Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, to maintain stability within his political structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The group warned that decisions capable of causing internal divisions could weaken the governor’s camp and create openings for political opponents.
Founder and National Leader of the group, Dr Kingsley Ogu, gave the advice in an open letter addressed to Fubara on Sunday.
He said the appeal was not intended to interfere in the governor’s constitutional powers, but to offer sincere counsel from loyal supporters committed to his political success and the peace of Rivers State.
Ogu said, “We urge Your Excellency to reconsider any decision or political strategy capable of creating avoidable internal fractures as Rivers State moves toward the 2027 elections.
“Creating avoidable cracks within your political structure at this delicate stage may hand unnecessary opportunities to political opponents.”
The group urged the governor to place priority on continuity, loyalty, inclusion and strategic political balance in decisions concerning the future composition of his political ticket.
It also called on Fubara to draw lessons from President Bola Tinubu, who it said maintained stability within his camp despite political pressures and speculations.
The group further warned against any strategy that could empower forces linked with violence, thuggery, cultism or strongman politics.
According to the letter, such reports had already created anxiety among many Rivers residents.
The organisation said Rivers State had witnessed enough political turbulence and should not be dragged back into difficult times.
It also noted that despite allegations that the Deputy Governor, Prof Ngozi Nma Odu, had not been fully empowered politically, she had remained loyal and supportive of the administration.
The group said Odu still enjoyed popularity among her people and remained a symbol of principled leadership.
It added that its grassroots presence across the 23 local government areas of the state positioned it strongly ahead of the 2027 elections.
Ogu said political victories could not be secured through tactical substitutions alone, but through unity, trust and broad-based support.
