The Kebbi State Chapter of Alumni of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, has donated a block of VIP toilet equipped with modern facilities worth N3,580,008 to the institution as part of its social responsibility.

The Chairperson of the Association, Hajia Halima Dikko, at the handover ceremony, said the gesture was aimed to give back to the institution that made the members.

According to Dikko, the idea of building a befitting facility for the institution was conceived in 2012. “On that occasion, we promised to do something on our part for the Alma mata and pledged towards this noble idea of uplifting the image of our great institution,” she explained.

She explained that the building is equipped with basic cleaning facilities as well as potable water for daily use.

In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Abdullahi A. Zuru, thanked the association for the gesture and urged others to always remember the Alma mata.

In the same vein, the university has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Sasakawa Africa Fund for Agricultural Extension Education (SAFE), in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural development on extension skills and services.

The four-year programme would see the personnel undergo extension programme geared towards upgrading their skills of extension professionals in the university.
