NTI DG conferred with professorship

The Director-General/ Chief Executive of the National Teachers Institute (NTI), Dr. Aminu Ladan Sharehu has been conferred with Honorary Professorship on ‘Educational Administration and Management’, by the European American University EAU, Commonwealth of Dominica.

The well-packaged event, which took place at Conference Hall A, University of Lagos Guest House, Akoka at the weekend, brought together many eminent Nigerians from various walks of life and availed the EUA the opportunity to present Doctorate and Professorship Award to some outstanding Nigerians.

The event saw presentation of different categories of Honorary awards to Nigerians who have distinguished themselves in their chosen profession.

In his acceptance speech at the event, Dr. Sharehu said the award will not only go down the lane of history but will also inspire him and the Institution he represents to more at producing and enhancing qualitative teachers across Nigeria.

He also added that the NTI has over the last few years intensified its operations at enhancing the quality of Nigerian teachers and by extension to pupils and future generations.

Also on the recipient of the award’s train, is the National Teachers’ Institute’s Bursar Abdulkarim Atto, who was conferred with Honorary Doctorate Degree of Science (D.sc) in Educational Development and Management.

The DG also took time to visit and monitor some NTI Centers to ascertain conduct of NTI first semester examination that is on-going across the 36 states of the country. The DG/CE visited the Aiyedere High School, Ketu, Lagos where he interfaced with NTI members of Staff, Facilitators of NTI Programmes and students.

The DG expressed satisfaction with the conduct and professionalism of the staff and student during the examination exercise.

Some of the students also articulated that experiences and what they have gained so far from the NTI programme.
