Alex Otti

An Abia state governorship aspirant, Dr. Kelechi Anosike has described the administration of Governor Alex Otti as one which is only popular on the social media.
Anosike who spoke on Thursday after undergoing his screening at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said the administration of Otti is only thriving on social media propaganda, without any tangible thing on ground.
He said that in an assessment of states during the ThisDay @30, Abia state did not even place among the top ten in all indices used for the assessment.
“I don’t know where the basis for the assessment, but let’s look at one, when Thisday at 30 was celebrated, journalists were sent to states and there are indices, there are sectors there to look at and assess and Abia did not come among the first 10, Abia was not even nominated, not to talk of winning any of the awards.
“And in other sectors they scored below average but on road discovered a little above the average so in that assessment and what I’ve seen on the ground that is not the best Abia can produce and that is why I’m in the race, we are capable of much more.
“The people of Abia state are being short-changed if the government was doing well I wouldn’t be in the race but I have seen that it was all about media hype and exaggerated performance with nothing on ground, nothing concrete on ground”.
The aspirant who also said he has launched what he called Operation Feed Abia, O-F-A, said it was aimed at ensuring that Abia citizens do not go to bed hungry.
“I said never again will any other citizen go to bed with empty stomach. There is going to be a back-to-farm state policy.
“Governors will have a farm. Everybody will have a farm to encourage the local peasants and farmers that the way forward for food sustenance is to go back to the farm. Operation Feed Abia.
“I also stated that part of why I’m in the race is for civil service reforms that have been short-changed as we speak”.
He equally took a swipe at the state government for only paying about N70,000 minimum wage, claiming that if elected, the administration will pay way higher wage to the civil servants.
