2027: Ex-Sokoto Dep. Gov. Manir Dan’iya emerges ADC governorship candidate

Former Deputy Governor of Sokoto State and prominent political leader, Manir Muhammad Dan’iya, has expressed profound appreciation to political stakeholders and supporters following his emergence as the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In a statement issued on Friday by his spokesperson, Aminu Abdullahi Abubakar, the ADC governorship candidate said that the task ahead requires unity, sincerity, and collective sacrifice by all party members.
Dan’iya, who holds the traditional title of Walin Sokoto, thanked former Governor of Sokoto State and ex-Speaker of the House of Representatives, Sen. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, for his support, guidance, and continued commitment to the political development of the state.
He described the confidence reposed in him by party leaders, elders, political associates, youths, women groups, and other critical stakeholders as a great responsibility that requires unity, sincerity, and collective sacrifice for the progress of Sokoto State.
The ADC governorship candidate said that the party represents a fresh commitment to inclusive leadership, good governance, people-oriented policies for the overall advancement of the state
He stressed that the support and encouragement from various political blocs and supporters across the state remain highly valued.
Dan’iya further stated that the confidence in him was a huge motivation to continue engaging with citizens, community leaders, party faithful, and development partners in pursuit of a better and more prosperous Sokoto State.
The Walin Sokoto called on supporters to remain peaceful, focused, and united as consultations and political engagements continue ahead of the 2027 electoral process.
“I sincerely appreciate His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, alongside all stakeholders, political associates, elders, youths, women, and supporters for the confidence reposed in me.
“This support is a responsibility I deeply value, and together, we shall continue to work for the unity, stability, and development of Sokoto State,” he stated.
