Yusuf Buhari Emerges APC Reps Candidate With 17,342 Votes 

The son of late former President Muhammadu Buhari, Yusuf, has emerged as the All Progressives Congress candidate for Daura/Sandamu/Mai’Adua Federal Constituency after securing 17,342 votes in the primary held across three local government areas of the constituency.

Yusuf Buhari defeated Awwal Lawal Daura, son of former Director General of the DSS, who polled 480 votes.

The Returning Officer, Lawal Garba, announced the results on Saturday in Daura.

According to him, out of a total of 35,825 registered members, 18,263 were accredited while 17,832 voted during the primary.

The breakdown shows that in Daura Local Government Area, out of 6,708 valid votes cast, Yusuf secured 6,386 votes, while Awwal polled 322 votes.

In Mai’Adua Local Government Area, Yusuf recorded 5,102 votes against Awwal’s 137 votes, while Sandamu Local Government Area, Yusuf consolidated his lead with 5,849 votes, with Awwal getting 21 votes.

Overall, the Returning Officer declared Yusuf Muhammadu Buhari as the winner with a total of 17,342 votes, while Auwal Lawal Musa polled 480 votes.
