Amb. Yerima Shettima has officially withdrawn from the Kaduna Central Senate race, reaffirming his loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and declaring full support for all candidates running under the party’s banner.

Speaking to journalists on May 17, 2026, Shettima said the decision came after extensive consultations and careful reflection, and was made to honor the party’s stance on the senatorial race. He emphasized that the move was not driven by fear, weakness, or cowardice, but by a commitment to party unity, discipline, and collective progress.

He urged his supporters and allies to stay calm, peaceful, and fully committed to backing the party’s candidates, stressing that the unity and success of the APC should remain the top priority. He also called for sincere reconciliation among dissatisfied members to strengthen cohesion and promote lasting peace within the party.
