While the glamour of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards unfolded on stage and the red carpet, actor and digital creator Ezike Kelvin, popularly known as Kenzy, was giving audiences an entirely different view of the event.

Kenzy served as the digital host of this year’s AMVCA, taking social media audiences behind the scenes of one of Africa’s biggest entertainment nights and offering access beyond the televised moments.

From interviewing celebrities and nominees on the red carpet to speaking with top executives including Kemi Omotosho and David Mignot, Kenzy became one of the event’s most visible faces online.

His role extended backstage where he was the first point of contact for winners immediately after leaving the stage, capturing their unfiltered emotions moments after receiving their awards.

He also brought viewers into areas rarely seen by the public, sharing glimpses from the sponsors’ lounge, media room, award engraving process and audience reactions throughout the ceremony.

For Kenzy, the experience marked a major career milestone.

“First time hosting and it was for a platform as huge as the AMVCA. Thank you @africamagic for believing in me and all the stars that spoke with me on the red carpet and backstage!” he wrote in a post after the event.

His performance quickly gained traction online, with many social media users praising both the introduction of a dedicated digital host role and Kenzy’s delivery throughout the event.

The actor’s representative at 365 Agency, Ihechi Opara, also expressed excitement over the achievement, describing it as a proud moment and recognition of Kenzy’s growing impact in entertainment and digital media.

The role reflects a growing shift in entertainment events, where digital storytelling and social-first content are becoming just as important as what happens on stage, giving audiences a more immersive experience beyond traditional broadcasts.
