The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kaduna State has completed its senatorial primary elections, producing candidates who will represent the party in the 2027 general elections.
Chairman of the ADC Primary Elections Committee in Kaduna State, Ladan Salihu, announced the outcome of the exercise during a press conference in Kaduna on Sunday.
Salihu said the party had earlier conducted its presidential and governorship primaries, while the latest round covered senatorial contests, House of Representatives seats and selected State House of Assembly positions.
According to him, the successful completion of the primaries demonstrated the party’s commitment to internal democracy, transparency and adherence to its electoral guidelines.
He stated that all candidates declared winners emerged through duly conducted processes and would fly the party’s flag in the 2027 elections.
“This is to certify that all aspirants listed in this release are duly elected winners of the various primary elections and are hereby declared candidates of the African Democratic Congress for the 2027 elections,” Salihu said.
For Kaduna North Senatorial District, Returning Officer Ibrahim Sidi Bamalli declared Khalid Ibrahim Mustafa Soba winner of the primary election after polling 83,070 votes in an uncontested contest.
The party leadership expressed confidence that the candidates produced through the primaries would strengthen its campaign efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.
ADC officials also maintained that the conduct of the exercise reflected the party’s determination to provide credible alternatives to voters across Kaduna State.
The unveiling of the senatorial candidates comes amid increased political activity across the state, as parties continue to conclude their primaries and prepare for the next electoral cycle.
Party leaders urged members to remain united and mobilise support for all ADC candidates as campaigns for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
