Bago’s three years dedicated to reviving critical sectors – Niger official

The Niger State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Obed Nuhu Nana disclosed that the past three years of the Bago’s administration has demonstrated visionary leadership, courage, and an unwavering commitment to rebuilding critical sectors of the state economy.
He made this known during a press briefing to mark the third year anniversary of governor Mohammed Umar Bago’s administration in Niger state held in ICT center Minna, saying that he has also improved the quality of life of citizens across the 25 local government areas.
Nuhu Nana stated that the engagement provides another opportunity to reflect on the remarkable journey of transformation embarked upon by this administration under the New Niger Agenda, which has continued to reposition Niger State for sustainable growth, economic prosperity, and inclusive development.
According to him, “your role as partners in development remains invaluable. The media continues to serve as a bridge between government and the people by promoting public enlightenment, accountability, and constructive engagement. We appreciate your professionalism and sustained support in projecting the policies, programmes, and achievements of this administration”.
The press briefing featured the presentations from the Ministries of Works and Infrastructure, Health, Water Resources, Homeland Security, Education and Agriculture, where the commissioners highlighted major interventions, reforms, and developmental strides recorded in the last three years of the present administration across the state.
On his part, the Commissioner for Water Resources and Dams Development Engr. Farouk Umar Audi, outlined various water projects being executed across the state aimed at improving access to clean, safe, and portable drinking water to the residents of the state
He noted that several urban and rural water schemes have either been completed or are currently undergoing rehabilitation to address longstanding water supply challenges.
Speaking also, the Commissioner for Homeland Security, Barrister Maurice Magaji emphasised the state government’s commitment to strengthening security architecture through collaboration with security agencies, community engagement, and deployment of technology-driven surveillance strategies.
He explained that the government has continued to invest heavily in logistics and intelligence gathering to enhance security operations across the state.
In same vein, the Ministry of Agriculture, represented by the Director of Agricultural Services, spoke on the state’s agricultural transformation agenda, including mechanised farming initiatives, distribution of farm inputs, farmer support programmes, and efforts to position Niger State as Nigeria’s leading agricultural hub.
