The Labour Party governorship candidate in Taraba State, Mr. Nathan Sanda, has warned that the state’s future cannot be left in the hands of career politicians who treat public office as a lifelong profession.

Sanda made the statement at the weekend shortly after his confirmation as the party’s flagbearer, urging citizens to take charge of their political destiny.

He said residents must play a decisive role in determining the direction of governance, stressing that meaningful progress depends on active participation.

Nathan argued that the power to transform the state rests with the people, not with politicians who view leadership as personal property.

According to him, politics should be about selfless service and commitment to public good, rather than personal enrichment or permanent political relevance.

“Hold the bull by the horns and play a decisive role in determining the direction of governance in Taraba.

“The people must take their destiny into their own hands. Politics is an opportunity for us to serve our people, not a career path for individuals seeking personal gain,” he said.

Sanda further challenged Taraba residents to become more politically aware, demand accountability from elected officials, and support leaders with clear development agendas.

He emphasized that transparency, responsible leadership, and citizen engagement are the only path to real development in the state.
