Enyimba FC and Adamawa United have secured places in the Round of 16 of the 2026 Federation Cup following victories in their Round of 32 matches played at the McCarthy Stadium in Makurdi on Monday.

Football fans were treated to exciting action as Enyimba edged Gombe United 1-0 in a keenly contested encounter.

The lone goal of the match came in the 21st minute when Enyimba striker Sule capitalised on a defensive lapse by Gombe United to score what proved to be the winning goal.

Gombe United pushed hard for an equaliser and came close in the 70th minute when their players appealed for a goal after the ball appeared to have crossed the line before being cleared by an Enyimba defender. However, the referee waved play on, ruling that no goal had been scored.
