Nasarawa APC aspirant seeks party intervention over Reps primary

An aspirant for the House of Representatives ticket in Awe/Doma/Keana Federal Constituency, Mahasin Usman Attah, has called on the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC ) to intervene in the controversy surrounding the recently concluded primary election in the constituency.
Addressing journalists in Lafia, Attah urged APC leaders at the state and national levels to review the conduct and outcome of the exercise, saying concerns raised by delegates and party stakeholders deserve careful consideration.
She maintained that her demand for a review was not aimed at creating division within the party but rather at safeguarding the credibility of its internal democratic processes.
According to the aspirant, complaints from party members across Awe Local Government Area, Doma Local Government Area and Keana Local Government Area indicate the need for a comprehensive assessment of the primary election to strengthen transparency and confidence in the party.
She stressed that fairness, accountability and adherence to due process remain essential pillars of any democratic contest and should guide the party’s response to grievances arising from the primary.
“The credibility of any democratic process depends on fairness, transparency, and adherence to due process. It is important that concerns raised by party members are given the attention they deserve,” she stated.
Attah called on the APC primary election committee as well as the party’s state and national leadership to objectively examine all complaints and take decisions that would promote justice and party cohesion.
She argued that maintaining the trust of members requires openness and a willingness to address concerns through established mechanisms.
The APC stalwart also appealed to her supporters and party faithful across the constituency to remain calm and peaceful while awaiting the party’s decision on the issues raised.
She urged aggrieved members to pursue redress through lawful and internal party channels rather than actions capable of undermining unity within the APC.
Expressing confidence in the leadership of the party, Attah said she believes a fair and transparent resolution of the matter would ultimately strengthen the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
She reaffirmed her loyalty to the ruling party and pledged to continue contributing to its growth and the development of the Awe/Doma/Keana Federal Constituency regardless of the outcome of the review process.
