A serving Permanent Secretary in the Sokoto state ministry of education and incumbent governor Wamakko’s associate, Alhaji Bello Guiwa, has been called upon by some youths to join the Sokoto State governorship race in 2015.

Speaking with Journalists in Sokoto yesterday, Alhaji Shehu Buda Chairman of the Sokoto State Success Forum said the youths in the state want Guiwa to resign immediately, as they were ready to support his candidature on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

According to him, “We have carefully analyzed Sokoto politics with wisdom and arrived at a conclusion in supporting merit, performance and new ideas in the choice of the next governor.

“The next governor must be someone of impeccable character with a track record in public or private sector and we have identified him as the best for the position,” he maintained.

He likened Gwiwa’s public service exposure to that of the incumbent governor, whose track record and vast experience as a former civil servant had helped him in piloting the affairs of the state to greater heights.

Buda maintained that his endorsement was necessitated by Guiwa’s antecedents and track records as a technocrat.

“We have no doubt that he is the best material for the office of the governor in 2015.” he said.

Also speaking, the National coordinator of Sokoto Youths Forum, Abubakar Mohammed Chasis, urged the electorate not to sacrifice competence for mediocrity, he insisted that the office of the governor was too serious and delicate requiring committed and dedicated person like Guiwa.

Abubakar reiterated the unflinching support and loyalty of the members to the realization of the Bello Guiwa ‘s project in 2015, added that, by this endorsement, it had already begun consultations with stakeholders across the state to sell his candidacy.
