The League Management Company will not respond to the decision of Nigeria Football Federation to abruptly terminate its activities as organizers of the Nigeria Professional Football League, LMC chairman, Nduka Irabor said. The LMC boss stated that his body will not be commenting over the action of the Chris Giwa-led NFF to halt its services as organizers of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL). The Chris Giwa-led NFF board after an executive committee meeting held on Monday at the NFF Secretariat, Abuja indefinitely suspended the LMC for sabotaging the Week 26 league games.
Irabor who questioned the decision of the NFF, insists his group will rather remain as spectators at the moment and will respond at an appropriate time. “I’m not going to respond to them on the [suspension notice]. Responding to them will make them feel important. What rubbish are they doing? They [NFF] cannot just do that,” Nduka said. “The other day, they [NFF] said the league [matches] must go on. Now that they want to organize it themselves, let’s see how they go about it.
They [NFF] don’t understand what LMC is and its operations. We will just watch them and will react when due,” he concluded. The leagues are currently halted following the Nigeria Referees Association’s decision to withdraw their services due to the administrative crisis rocking the Nigeria Football Federation. In the meantime, the Nigeria Football Federation has constituted a nine-man interim board to take charge of the Nigeria Premier League till the end of the 2013/2014 season and also conduct fresh board elections forthwith.
