Democracy has fared well, says Sokoto East APC Zonal VC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Zonal Vice Chairman, Sokoto East Senatorial District, Alhaji Muhammad Musa Sarkin-Alaru, has extolled the successes recorded since Nigeria’s return to democratic rule in 1999.
The Zonal Vice Chairman, who addressed newsmen in Sokoto on Tuesday, said democracy has fared well in the state and the country.
Sarkin-Alaru, who is also the Campaign Coordinator of the APC Senatorial Candidate in the District, Alhaji Umar Ajiya, said in Sokoto State, a lot has been achieved because of the credible leadership over the years.
He particularly said a lot was achieved in Sokoto State when Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko served as governor.
The APC chieftain ssid the present Governor, Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, has been delivering tangible dividends of democracy to the people.
He hailed the APC primaries conducted in the state, saying it was peaceful and demonstrates the effectiveness of democracy in meeting the needs of citizens.
“For us in the eastern zone of Sokoto state, where security challenges remain a top priority, we have witnessed real commitment from the government and our leaders,” Musa said.
He also spoke positively about Alhaji Umar Ajiyan-Isa, the zone’s Senatorial Candidate, noting his long-standing dedication to public service even before entering politics.
“His presence will not only bring relief to our security situation but will also support government efforts to enhance the living standards of our people,” Musa added.
According to Musa, Ajiyan-Isa has been actively involved in humanitarian efforts across the eastern senatorial zone, citing the donation of over 250 bags of grains and N2 million support to displaced persons from Gandi village.
According to him, Ajiya has also supported APC operations by donating a new Toyota Camry to each of the eight local government APC Chairmen in the zone, and plans to distribute 1,000 motorcycles to other party leaders.
In the area of healthcare, Musa said the candidate had provided 1,000 delivery kits to the eight General Hospitals in the zone to reduce maternal deaths and assist families unable to afford medical care.
Musa estimated that the aspirant had spent over N18 million on supporting displaced persons across the Senatorial District.
The Zonal Vice Chairman Chairman expressed confidence in the APC’s prospects in 2027, assuring that the party would emerge victorious across the eight local government areas in the zone and at the state and national level.
He urged the electorate to recognize the efforts and President Bola Tinubu’s administration of making life better for all.
