An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Delta State and Onishe of Ubulu-Uku Kingdom, Chief Emmanuel Ejiofor, has called on Nigerians to embrace national unity and maintain confidence in the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the nation marks Democracy Day.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Ejiofor said President Tinubu’s leadership and courage have played a significant role in sustaining Nigeria’s unity and democratic journey, describing Democracy Day as a reflection of the administration’s commitment to national cohesion despite prevailing challenges.

According to him, no nation is immune to difficulties, but effective leadership requires sacrifice, determination and the ability to steer the country towards stability and prosperity.

The APC stalwart maintained that Nigeria is in a better position today than when President Tinubu assumed office, urging citizens to exercise patience, make collective sacrifices and remain resilient in the face of current challenges.

He acknowledged the economic hardships being experienced across the country but noted that similar economic pressures are affecting many nations around the world, including advanced economies such as the United States.

Ejiofor expressed optimism that Nigeria’s economy is gradually showing signs of recovery, attributing the development to the administration’s economic reforms and policy direction.

On security, he said the government is addressing the challenges through strategic measures and collaboration with international partners, expressing confidence that the situation would improve in the near future.

He added that President Tinubu’s diplomatic engagements and commitment to national security would further strengthen efforts aimed at restoring peace and stability across the country.

The APC leader also commended the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for her contributions to national development, particularly her efforts in empowering women and supporting the girl-child.

According to him, her initiatives have helped mobilise critical support for the administration’s programmes and strengthened efforts to address national challenges.

Ejiofor urged Nigerians to continue supporting the President, expressing confidence in Tinubu’s ability to deliver on his mandate and lead the country towards greater progress.

He also called on citizens to remain hopeful, pray for the nation and work collectively for a more prosperous and united Nigeria.
