The National Agricultural Development Fund (NADF) has officially flagged off the distribution of 11,720 bags of fertilizers to 2,930 small-holder farmers across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The formal handover ceremony, which held at the Pavilion Centre in Garki, Abuja, marks a practical step toward boosting local crop yields, reducing production costs, and strengthening the regional food supply chain.

Speaking at the national flag-off, the Minister of State for the FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, described the initiative as a timely intervention that underscores the federal government’s unwavering resolve to support everyday farmers under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“Agriculture remains a critical pillar of national development. Investing in our farmers is an investment in the nation’s prosperity, economic stability, and food security,” Dr. Mahmoud stated.

She congratulated the 2,930 beneficiaries and urged them to make judicious use of the farm inputs while embracing modern farming practices to maximize their seasonal productivity.

The initiative is specifically designed as targeted relief rather than a generic handout.
