Igabi LGA in Kaduna Inaugurates Community Emergency Committees

The Chairman of Local Emergency Management Committee in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Alhaji Kabir Salisu Sambo has inaugurated community coordinators to strengthen effective disaster reporting and response in the area.

Sambo, who is also the Vice Chairman of the local government, said that verification of the Community Information Coordinators (CIC) was conducted on Tuesday to assess their capacity.

“The exercise was aimed at strengthening community-based disaster reporting and response. We assessed the readiness, documentation, and capacity of all CICs across Igabi LGA,” he said.

He commended the commitment of the coordinators and urged them to remain proactive in information sharing for effective emergency management.

The Chairman appreciated Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency’s vital support in building resilient communities for timely and effective response to any disaster in Igabi LGA and across the state.

Sambo explained that the Local Emergency Management Committee is a subsidiary structure of the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency.
