Gov. Yahaya applauds mandate validation
Reacting to the outcome, Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, extended warm congratulations to his Ekiti State counterpart, describing the landslide victory as a clear validation of the people’s trust in progressive leadership.
Yahaya, who actively served as a member of the APC National Campaign Council for the election, expressed absolute confidence that Oyebanji would use this renewed four-year mandate to consolidate the structural achievements of his first term.
“This fresh mandate presents another opportunity to further build on the solid foundation of development and prosperity already laid in Ekiti State under your purposeful leadership.
“I pray Almighty God to continue to guide and bless you with greater wisdom and strength,” Yahaya stated.
In a statement signed by his Director-General of Press Affairs, Ismaila Uba Misilli, Yahaya also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for providing the visionary leadership that keeps the APC electorally strong ahead of 2027.
He further praised the campaign council for their tireless strategic engagements that culminated in the peaceful and dominant showing at the polls.
It’s historic victory – APC
The All Progressives Congress (APC) described Oyebanji’s victory as historical as it marks the first time an incumbent governor of the state is winning his relection.
National Publicity Secretary (NPS) of the party, Felix Morka in a statement noted that the victory is a testament to the wide acceptability of the governor among the people of Ekiti, whom he noted are at home with the progressive policies of the governor.
He said: “Governor Oyebanji’s victory is epic as he becomes the first incumbent governor to win reelection in the state’s contemporary democratic history. This win is a loud demonstration of the confidence of Ekiti people in Governor Oyebanji, his visionary leadership, people-centered policies, and unflinching commitment to the development and progress of the state.
“We applaud the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, and all oversight stakeholders whose dedication and professionalism contributed to the successful conduct of the election.
“The Party commends the people of Ekiti State for their peaceful conduct and enthusiastic participation throughout the electoral process.
“We remain exceedingly grateful for their steadfast support, and endorsement of our great Party, its policies and progressive ideals.
“We are confident that Governor Oyebanji’s second term will deliver more development and improved living conditions for the people as he expands the achievement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s transformative Renewed Hope Agenda in the state”, he stated.
