The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has uploaded the names and particulars of its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and vice-presidential candidate, Rotimi Amaechi, to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination portal ahead of the 2027 general election.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, announced the development on Wednesday, describing it as another milestone in the ADC’s preparations for the presidential election.
In a post on his Facebook page, Abdullahi said the submission reflects the party’s commitment to presenting Nigerians with what it described as a credible alternative focused on competence, unity and national renewal.
“We are pleased to announce that we have successfully uploaded the names and particulars of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and our Vice Presidential Candidate, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, to the nomination portal of INEC,” he said.
According to him, the successful upload marks another important step in the party’s electoral preparations ahead of the 2027 polls.
Atiku emerged as the ADC’s presidential candidate after defeating former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi and businessman Mohammed Hayatu-Deen during the party’s primary election.
Following the conclusion of the primary, the party announced Amaechi as Atiku’s running mate for the 2027 presidential election.
The submission of candidates’ particulars to the INEC portal forms part of the statutory nomination process for political parties participating in the forthcoming general election.
