Bishop urges Nigerians to embrace practical development

The Kwara State Methodist Church of Nigeria, has appealed to all Nigerians to study the nation’s histories and utilise it for practical development.

The Church members were also urged to be resourceful and invest in spiritual work for the expansion and propagating the virtue of Jesus Christ for the betterment of human race.

The Methodist Bishop Diocese of Kwara RT. Rev. Obafemi Adeleye, who stated this while speaking in Ilorin at a book launch ” The History of Methodism in the Diocese of Kwara” explained that the publishers of the book had contributed immensely to the Missionary activities of Methodist mission in Offa, Ilorin, Borgu, Ife and its environs and some part of Diocese of Okun and Niger State.

He noted that Methodist Church of Nigerian Diocese of Kwara had been facing serious challenges in terms of documenting its activities over the years, pointing out that the effort of the authors would go a long way to build a solid base for documenting the Diocese activities for future generation.

Earlier, the authors of the book, RT Kolawole Abimbola RTD and Chief Adebayo Ogundiran, said they were inspired to write the book because of innate curiosity to discover hidden facts about the history of Methodism in the Diocese of Kwara and Okun
