The Director-General of the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA), Hon. Abdulrazak Namdas, has commended President Bola Tinubu for retaining Vice President Kashim Shettima as his running mate for the 2027 presidential election, describing the decision as a bold endorsement of competence, loyalty, and performance.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Saturday, Namdas congratulated Shettima on his renomination and praised President Tinubu for what he described as his wisdom and foresight in retaining a dependable partner in governance.
“As a proud member of the APC and a stakeholder committed to the unity and progress of our nation, I heartily congratulate His Excellency, Senator Kashim Shettima, on this well-deserved renomination,” he said.
Namdas noted that since assuming office in 2023, the Tinubu-Shettima administration has provided purposeful leadership anchored on the Renewed Hope Agenda, with the Vice President playing a significant role in governance.
“Senator Shettima has not been a spare tyre. He has been an active partner in governance, driving economic reforms, deepening engagement with the private sector, representing Nigeria with dignity on the global stage, and providing thoughtful leadership across the country,” he stated.
According to him, the President’s decision to retain Shettima demonstrates the administration’s commitment to continuity, experience, and teamwork.
He said the move sends a strong signal that performance and loyalty are valued and that nation-building requires steady and competent leadership.
The BCDA boss also described the Tinubu-Shettima ticket as the “most formidable presidential ticket” ahead of the 2027 general election, expressing confidence that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) would secure an even stronger mandate.
“With President Tinubu at the helm and Senator Shettima as his deputy, the APC is offering Nigerians a tested team that understands the assignment and has the courage to make difficult decisions needed to reposition the economy, enhance security, and create opportunities for young people,” he said.
Namdas urged Nigerians to remain committed to the country’s progress, stressing that the journey ahead would require sacrifice, unity, and collective belief in the Nigerian project.
He expressed optimism that the foundations being laid by the current administration would ultimately deliver prosperity and national development.
“Once again, congratulations to Senator Kashim Shettima. Thank you, Mr.
President, for your confidence and for putting Nigeria first. The work continues, and victory, by the grace of God and the will of the people, is assured,” he added.
