The Young Progressives Party (YPP) has said the growing number of politicians joining its fold reflects increasing public confidence in the party’s vision as it prepares for the 2027 general elections.
e party made the assertion during the inauguration of its new Lagos State secretariat, an event that also witnessed the admission of new members from different parts of the state.
Speaking at the ceremony, YPP presidential candidate and member of the party’s Board of Trustees, Olajide Filani, described the new secretariat as a symbol of the party’s readiness to expand its grassroots presence and strengthen its political structures in Lagos.
According to Filani, the party is committed to providing Nigerians with what he described as a credible alternative built on discipline, accountability and sustainable development.
He said the YPP had developed a solid organizational structure capable of driving economic growth, inclusive governance and national development.
“The YPP is systematically structured to rescue this nation and put it firmly on the path of genuine growth and economic development.
“The influx of experienced political leaders into our party today is a clear indication that our message is resonating across the political spectrum. It also shows that Nigerians desire genuine change,” he said.
Filani explained that the Lagos secretariat would serve as the operational centre for coordinating the party’s activities and deepening democratic participation across the state.
He added that the party intended to bring together experienced politicians and young progressives to build a disciplined political movement capable of offering a new direction for the country.
The YPP standard-bearer urged members, particularly the newly admitted ones, to remain committed to the party’s ideals by strengthening its structures at the ward level, stressing that unity, discipline and grassroots mobilization would be vital to its electoral success in 2027.
He also expressed confidence that the party’s growing support base would translate into stronger performances in future elections.
Speaking on behalf of the new members, Oludare Falade attributed their decision to join the YPP to the party’s commitment to youth inclusion and what he described as the peaceful atmosphere within its ranks.
Falade pledged the loyalty of the new members, assuring the party leadership of their commitment to promoting the party’s ideals across Lagos ahead of the 2027 polls.
