2027: ADC alleges Tinubu using judiciary to intimidate Malami

The African Democratic Congress, (ADC) in Kebbi State has accused the Federal Government of attempting to weaken the governorship ambition of former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, through what it described as judicial intimidation.
The allegation was contained in a statement jointly signed by the party’s Kebbi State Chairman, Sufiyanu Bala, and Alhaji Shehu Aliyu Sambawa.
According to the party, the alleged actions are part of a broader strategy to intimidate opposition figures at both the federal and state levels ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The ADC claimed the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, was targeting politicians considered strong challengers, insisting that Malami’s growing political influence in Kebbi State had made him a target.
“By 12 noon in 2027, their party is gone. That is why they are intimidating strong opposition figures who appear poised to replace them, particularly Malami, who is being persecuted through the judiciary,” the statement said.
The party further alleged that the Kebbi State Government was collaborating in efforts to frustrate Malami’s governorship ambition through acts of intimidation.
It also claimed that the confiscation of the former minister’s assets formed part of a coordinated effort by both the federal and state governments to weaken his political aspirations.
Despite the alleged pressure, the ADC maintained that nothing would stop Malami from contesting the 2027 governorship election, expressing confidence that the judiciary would overturn the recent ruling against him.
