Channels TV Pledges Collaboration with Kebbi Govt on Media Training, Publicity 

 

The Managing Director of Academic Channel Television, Mr. Kingsley Uranta, has expressed the station’s readiness to collaborate with the Kebbi State Government in the area of academic broadcasting, media training, and publicity.

Mr. Uranta made this known on Tuesday when the Kebbi State Government delegation, led by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed, paid an advocacy visit to the Channels TV head office in Lagos.

The Managing Director commended the efforts of the Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, in delivering the dividends of democracy and improving the welfare of the people of the state.

“We have always known him as a committed Comrade, and we have heard of his remarkable achievements.

“His style of leadership inspires confidence, and we are prepared to support his administration by giving adequate publicity to its programmes and showcasing its achievements,” he said.

Mr. Uranta further stressed the importance of strengthening the relationship between Channel TV and the Kebbi State Government, noting that Kebbi possesses enormous economic potential capable of driving sustainable growth and attracting investment.

He explained that the station has Academic institutions that is committed to training journalists and other media professionals, adding that a partnership with the state government would enhance the capacity of media practitioners in the state and promote professionalism in media practice.

“We want Channel TV Academy to be part of this collaboration because it will help equip media practitioners in Kebbi State with the skills needed to address emerging challenges and improve the effectiveness of news reporting,” he added.

He also urged the Commissioner to properly document and package the achievements of Governor Nasir Idris to enable the station produce documentaries and other media content that will effectively showcase the administration’s developmental strides.

Responding, the Kebbi State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed, thanked the management of Channel TV for providing the state with wider media visibility.

He stated that the purpose of the visit was to strengthen the existing relationship and explore new areas of collaboration that would further project the achievements of the present administration.

According to the Commissioner, Governor Nasir Idris has made significant progress in infrastructure development and has transformed the state capital through numerous developmental projects.

“The Governor has recorded remarkable achievements across all sectors, including road construction, installation of streetlights, distribution of free fertilisers to farmers, construction and renovation of schools and healthcare facilities, as well as significant improvements in the security of lives and property,” he said.

The team of Kebbi State Media Aides includes the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Alhaji Yahaya Sarki; the Special Adviser on New Media, Alhaji Aliyu Bandado., the Chief Press Secretary, Alhaji Ahmad Idris; the Special Adviser on Public Enlightenment and Orientation, Alhaji Ibrahim A Jombali; and the Special Adviser on Communication Strategy, Alhaji Abdullahi Idris.
