Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has dismissed the proposed presidential ticket of Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso under the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), declaring that it has no prospect of winning Kano State in the 2027 general election.
Speaking with journalists, the former Kano State governor said the alliance lacks the political appeal and leadership credentials required to secure the support of Kano voters.
According to Ganduje, the Obi-Kwankwaso ticket is “dead on arrival,” insisting it would fail to make any meaningful electoral impact in the state.
He questioned Obi’s record as former governor of Anambra State, asking what lasting achievements or legacy he left behind during his tenure. Ganduje further argued that Obi has not demonstrated sufficient governance experience to lead Nigeria.
The former APC chairman also took aim at Kwankwaso, noting that unlike former governors Ibrahim Shekarau and himself, the former Kano governor did not serve two consecutive terms in office.
Ganduje maintained that Kwankwaso’s record in office does not provide enough justification for Nigerians or the people of Kano to entrust him with the office of vice-president.
Reiterating his position, Ganduje insisted that the proposed NDC presidential ticket lacks the political strength to succeed in Kano and would not pose a serious challenge in the 2027 presidential election.
