Vice Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has dismissed former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje’s claim that the Peter Obi-Kwankwaso presidential ticket is “dead on arrival” in Kano State.
Kwankwaso said Ganduje had no basis for making such a declaration, insisting that the APC had already suffered defeat in Kano despite Ganduje serving as governor.
Speaking during an interview on News Central TV, monitored in Abuja, Kwankwaso argued that the APC’s electoral record in the state undermines Ganduje’s criticism of the NDC ticket.
“We supported him in 2015. In 2023 we defeated him, and if he could not do anything when he was governor, what can he do now?” Kwankwaso said.
His comments were in response to Ganduje’s recent remarks that the Obi-Kwankwaso ticket lacked the political strength and leadership credentials to secure victory in Kano during the 2027 general election.
Ganduje had maintained that the NDC presidential ticket would fail to make an impact in the state, describing it as “dead on arrival.”
