Super Eagles invitee and El-Kanemi Warriors goalkeeper, David Obiozor has said the experience he gained in the Eagles camp is quite unquantifiable. The former Plateau United shot-stopper was dropped from the Eagles squad that headed to Cape Town to confront the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in the second group game of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches following home loss to the Red Devils of Congo.
Obiazor said he did not feel bad being dropped from the South Africa game but remains eternally appreciative to the coaches for the wonderful opportunity that will stand him out among his colleagues in the domestic league. “The experience I gained within the shortest time spent in the Eagles camp is immeasurable and is certain to stand me out prominently among my colleagues in the league. I’m certain even my team will notice the difference whenever the league restarts, I think the impact of rubbing shoulders with the big players has improved and sharpened my game immensely. I know El-Kanemi Warriors will be the biggest gainers of my invaluable experience in the Eagles camp. That’s why I’ll simply be considered an ingrate if for any reason I’m seen feeling bad over the decision of the coaches to drop me from the South Africa game.
Obiazor said his side will strive to finish the season among the top two teams at the end of the 2013/14 Glo Premier League season.”Last season we finished fourth on the league log which did not take us to the continent but this season our target to earn a position that will hand us ticket to the continent. The Maiduguri-based side are 10th on the league table on 35 points at the conclusion of week 25 matches of the Nigerian elite league.
