The Federal Government has officially launched the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) Human Resource (HR) Modules, marking a major step toward a digital, transparent, and data-driven Federal Civil Service.

Hosted by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) on Monday, 27 July 2026, the “Go-Live” ceremony highlighted plans to modernize human resource management, eliminate administrative inefficiencies, and unify personnel records across more than 508 Ministries, Extra-Ministerial Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

The new platform digitizes employee processes from biometric enrollment and onboarding to payroll administration, leave applications, mobility, and self-service.

It also improves data accuracy, eliminates record duplication, automates approval workflows, and provides clear audit trails for over 600,000 civil servants.

Equally, it was developed locally using the SoftSuite Human Capital Management platform by Soft Alliance and Resources Limited, aligning with the Nigeria First Policy to protect national data sovereignty and reduce foreign software expenses.

“The IPPIS Human Resource Modules represent far more than a digital platform; they are a comprehensive system for managing the Government’s most valuable asset—its workforce,”Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.

Similarly, Chairman, Federal Civil Service Commission, Prof. Tunji Olaopa noted that the launch represents the realization of reforms set in motion in 2006, encouraging civil servants to embrace the new self-service capabilities.
