Katsina to increase workers’ salary January 2027
Katsina state government says it will implement a new minimum wage structure for workers in 2027.
“The new minimum wage structure would take effect next year, ” Comrade Tanimu Saulawa, Special Adviser on Labour Matters to Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, said on Wednesday.
He said the increment in workers salary may commence in January 2027.
Comrade Saulawa told journalists shortly after his appearance before the state 2027 Budget Committee at old Government House, Katsina, that the government is finalising the details.
According to him, the implementation of a new minimum wage for civil servants is part of efforts to improve workers’ welfare.
He added that the wage review is part of the administration’s efforts to strengthen the public service and enhance the productivity of the workforce.
