The Young Progressives Party (YPP) has declared itself the most viable alternative to break the dominance of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking with journalists on Thursday, in Jalingo, the Taraba State Chairman of the YPP, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar Hassan, stated that the party is positioning itself to reset governance and deliver true democratic benefits to the people.

Hassan criticized both past and present political administrations in the state, arguing that governance under both major parties has failed to meet the expectations and aspirations of Tarabans.

According to him, the YPP has strategically chosen leaders and candidates through consensus to ensure only individuals with proven integrity and competence are presented to the electorate.

“After many years of failed governance in Taraba, our party, the YPP, believes it is time to change the narrative and transform the state for greatness.

“We have assembled men of trusted integrity so that, if voted into power in 2027, Taraba will return to its glory days,” he stated.

Outline detailing the party’s platform, Hassan emphasized that a YPP administration would focus heavily on youth self-reliance, economic growth through agriculture, and grassroots entrepreneurship.
