The All Progressives Congress (APC) has concluded plans to embark on a strategic tour of the seven North-West states as part of efforts to consolidate its political base and rally greater support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The decision was reached during a meeting of the party’s North-West zonal leadership held in Kaduna, according to a statement issued on Thursday by the zonal spokesman, Musa Mada.
The meeting, presided over by the APC North-West Zonal Secretary, Isah Achida, in the absence of the National Vice Chairman (North-West), Garba Datti, who was away on official assignment, focused on strengthening the party’s structure across the region.
According to the statement, the planned tour will enable the zonal leadership to engage party stakeholders in all seven states, mobilize grassroots support and reinforce the APC’s campaign strategy for the 2027 presidential election.
The leadership also reviewed measures aimed at ensuring the party retains political control of all seven North-West states, describing the region as a critical stronghold for the APC.
The statement noted that the North-West currently stands out as the only geopolitical zone where all its states are governed by a single political party, describing the development as unprecedented in Nigeria’s political history.
The APC also acknowledged the support of Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani for donating a utility vehicle to aid the activities of the zonal headquarters while commending governors across the North-West for their continued backing of the party’s operations.
