The President of the Ogar Okrache Save Alive Foundation, Dr Christopher Odey Ogar, a distinguished philanthropist, banker, public administrator, business consultant and emerging political leader, has been honoured with the Global Achievers Award (GAA) 2026 Humanitarian Personality of the Year Award in recognition of his exceptional humanitarian service, philanthropic interventions and unwavering commitment to community development.
Dr Ogar received the award plaque and certificate during the 8th edition of the Global Achievers Award (GAA) 2026, held on Saturday, 1st August 2026, at the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja.
The prestigious annual event, organised by Mojs Entertainment Limited in collaboration with the Yala Achievers and Development Initiative (YADI), celebrates outstanding individuals whose achievements, leadership and selfless service have made significant contributions to humanity and national development.
Speaking after receiving the award, Dr Ogar expressed profound appreciation to the organisers for considering him worthy of the honour. He dedicated the award to the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, in recognition of what he described as the Governor’s impactful leadership and transformational achievements under the People First agenda, which, according to him, have positioned Cross River among Nigeria’s leading performing states.

Profile of Dr Christopher Odey Ogar
Dr Christopher Odey Ogar is a distinguished Nigerian banker, public administrator, researcher, author, business consultant and politician from Itega Ekpudu-Okpoma Ward, Yala I State Constituency, Yala Local Government Area of Cross River State. He is widely recognised for his contributions to public administration, financial management, leadership development and community service.
An accomplished scholar and policy expert, Dr Ogar serves as an Associate Research Fellow in Global Studies on Policy and Administrative Issues, reflecting his unwavering commitment to research, policy development and national advancement.
He began his academic journey with a Diploma in Local Government Administration in 2004 before obtaining a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Policy and Administrative Studies from the University of Calabar in 2007.
Driven by an enduring passion for academic excellence, he obtained professional certifications in Risk Management, Customer Service Management and Public Finance. He later earned a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in International Relations, Diplomacy and Conflict Management from the University of Port Harcourt in 2017, followed by a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Public Finance from the University of Calabar.
In 2024, he obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Insurance and Risk Management and is currently pursuing a second Ph.D. in Public Finance at the University of Calabar. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Local Government and Public Administration of Nigeria.
Professionally, Dr Ogar built an outstanding career in the banking industry, rising through the ranks to become a Bank Manager. Throughout his career, he distinguished himself in finance, business development, sales and customer relationship management. His exceptional dedication to service earned him recognition as a Service Ambassador for eight consecutive years.
Beyond banking, he is an accomplished Business Development Consultant, Oil and Gas Consultant and Lead Consultant of Gredif Global Resources, providing strategic advisory services to businesses and institutions.
In public service, Dr Ogar served as Senior Special Assistant on Intergovernmental Affairs to the immediate past Governor of Cross River State, Senator Professor Ben Ayade, where he played a significant role in strengthening collaboration between the state government and other tiers of government and institutions.
His passion for governance also saw him contest for the position of Chairman of Yala Local Government Area under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2017, campaigning on a vision of youth empowerment, SME development and grassroots economic transformation.
As a student leader, he served as Student Union President of the Institute of Public Policy and Administration, University of Calabar, and later became a Chief-in-Caucus of NACRISS Worldwide, demonstrating his enduring commitment to leadership and youth mobilisation.
Dr Ogar is also the President of the Ogar Okrache Save Alive Foundation, through which he has spearheaded numerous humanitarian interventions in education, healthcare, youth empowerment and community development, touching the lives of many across Nigeria.
