The Deputy Governorship Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Sokoto State, Hon. Bello Isa Ambarura, has declared that the party is fully prepared to participate in the 2027 general elections.

Ambarura made the declaration on Wednesday while addressing journalists after a thank-you visit to the ADC State Secretariat in Sokoto, where he expressed appreciation to the party leadership and members for nominating him as the party’s deputy governorship candidate.

The lawmaker, who represents Gwadabawa/Illela Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives on the platform of the ADC, said he was honoured by the confidence reposed in him and pledged to justify the trust.

“I came to thank the party leadership and members for choosing me from among many qualified aspirants to serve as the party’s deputy governorship candidate. I appreciate their support and seek their continued cooperation,” he said.

Speaking on his emergence as the party’s candidate, Ambarura attributed the decision to his record of public service spanning more than three decades.

According to him, he served as a civil servant from the rank of clerk to permanent secretary, including as Permanent Secretary of the Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency. He also served as a member of the Sokoto State House of Assembly before his current position in the House of Representatives.

He expressed confidence in the ADC’s preparedness for the election, saying the party is ready to challenge its political opponents.

“We are ready for the election. That is all,” he said.

Ambarura also called on ADC members across Sokoto State’s 23 local government areas to remain united and work together to secure victory at the polls.

“My appeal to all ADC members is to remain committed, support the party and work together for our collective success,” he said.

On the party’s expectations for the election, he said the outcome ultimately rests with God, adding that the party would actively participate while praying for success.
