P-Square Albums Climb Nigeria Apple Music Chart Amid Renewed Public Interest

Date:

The music catalogue of the defunct Nigerian music duo P-Square has witnessed a resurgence on the Nigeria Apple Music Albums Chart, as renewed public interest drives several of the group’s classic projects back into the rankings.

According to music chart tracking platform Album Talks HQ, the duo’s compilation album, Best of P-Square, climbed 87 places to reach No. 100 on the Nigeria Apple Music Albums Chart.

The platform also reported that Get Squared and Game Over re-entered the chart at No. 173 and No. 182, respectively.

The renewed popularity of the group’s albums comes amid heightened public attention following the latest exchange of words between brothers Peter Okoye and Paul Okoye, popularly known as Mr P and Rudeboy.

The lingering dispute between the siblings has continued to dominate conversations on social media, with fans revisiting some of P-Square’s biggest hits and celebrating the duo’s musical legacy.

P-Square rose to prominence in the early 2000s and became one of Africa’s most successful music groups, producing chart-topping songs such as “Bizzy Body,” “Do Me,” “Game Over,” and “Alingo.”

The duo officially split in 2017 following reported disagreements over finances, creative control, and the involvement of their elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye.

Although Peter and Paul reunited in November 2021, the reconciliation was short-lived, and the pair parted ways again in 2024 to continue their individual music careers under their respective stage names, Mr P and Rudeboy.

The latest chart resurgence underscores the enduring appeal of P-Square’s music and the group’s lasting influence on Nigeria’s entertainment industry, despite their continued separation.
