2027: Okonkwo predicts Tinubu’s defeat, says Atiku has clear path to presidency

Kenneth Okonkwo, spokesperson for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential campaign of Atiku Abubakar, has predicted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will lose his bid for re-election in the 2027 general elections.
Okonkwo made the declaration during an interview with Symfoni TV, monitored in Abuja, where he expressed confidence that the ADC presidential candidate has a strong chance of emerging victorious at the polls.
The Nollywood actor-turned-politician argued that the political circumstances facing the Tinubu administration make an opposition victory increasingly possible.
According to him, Tinubu’s electoral prospects have weakened considerably since the 2023 elections, despite the President now having the advantage of incumbency.
Okonkwo recalled that the opposition entered the 2023 presidential contest without the support of governors or significant control of political structures, yet, in his view, Tinubu did not secure victory in more states than the opposition.
He further launched a strong criticism of the Tinubu administration, describing it as the worst in Nigeria’s history and alleging that the President would struggle to win any state in 2027 without electoral malpractice.
“When we campaigned for the 2023 general elections, we had no governor. We had nothing, and Tinubu did not win more states than us,” Okonkwo said.
He maintained that the political landscape had now created what he described as a clear route to victory for Atiku.
“Now that he is the worst President Nigeria has ever had, do you think he will win any state without rigging? Tinubu will not win any state. So the path to victory is very clear. And by the grace of God, we will win,” he said.
Okonkwo’s remarks come as political parties and their prospective candidates intensify preparations for the 2027 elections, with the ADC positioning Atiku as a major challenger to the incumbent President.
