Abaji chair tasks new appointees on purposeful leadership

The Executive Chairman of Abaji Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Hon. Abubakar Umar Abdullahi, has urged newly inaugurated political appointees to deliver purposeful, results-driven leadership that meets the expectations of local residents.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony held at the council chamber on Tuesday, Abdullahi tasked the appointees comprising the Council Secretary, Supervisory Councilors, Senior Special Advisers (SSAs), and ward representatives to discharge their duties with integrity, diligence, and professionalism.

To foster unity and progress across the council, the Chairman outlined key directives for the new administration.

He urged them to maintain strong relationships with traditional rulers, community leaders, and grassroots stakeholders to preserve peace and security.

He noted that supervisory councilors must work closely with career department heads to effectively execute government policies.

He added that Senior Special Advisers are expected to offer actionable advice to drive development.

According to him, appointees must avoid infighting or unnecessary rivalries, focusing instead on collective efforts that advance the council’s development agenda.

“View these appointments as a call to serve humanity,” Abdullahi emphasized, urging the team to generate innovative ideas that promote peace and progress across Abaji.

Responding on behalf of the appointees, the newly sworn-in Council Secretary, Hon. Agaba Audu, pledged full alignment with the Chairman’s vision to deliver rapid development, particularly for vulnerable residents.

Commending Abdullahi’s achievements during his first term, Audu assured residents that the executive team, political appointees, and local lawmakers would collaborate effectively to justify the mandate given to them by the electorate.
