ALU TV International Nigeria has announced plans to deepen its national reach through multilingual programming designed to promote Nigerian businesses, strengthen national unity and counter negative narratives about the country.
The General Manager of the station, Bashar Abubakar, disclosed this on Tuesday in Sokoto when the management of FATSAM Advertising and Media Limited paid a courtesy visit to the television station.
Abubakar said ALU TV was established to serve Nigerians across ethnic and geographical divides, stressing that the station was already expanding its coverage beyond Sokoto and the northern region.
“ALU TV is already covering events all over Nigeria, especially in the North-West and North-East regions. We are working to expand our frontiers beyond Sokoto, Northern Nigeria, and to other parts of Africa,” he said.
According to him, the station’s programming is anchored on the promotion of Nigeria’s unity, culture, peace and socio-economic development.
He said the station was also determined to challenge negative perceptions about Nigeria by giving greater visibility to the country’s achievements, people, businesses and cultural diversity.
“This country belongs to all of us and we must work towards its survival, peace, unity, stability and socio-economic prosperity. If we as Nigerians don’t do this, nobody will do it for us,” Abubakar said.
He noted that the initiative was consistent with the vision of ALU TV’s founder, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, former Governor of Sokoto State and Senator representing Sokoto North Senatorial District.
Abubakar described Wamakko as a patriotic founder whose vision was to establish a television platform capable of reaching audiences beyond regional boundaries.
As part of the station’s expansion strategy, he disclosed plans to introduce a new multilingual television programme featuring Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo languages.
The programme, he explained, would provide a platform for businesses and brands to reach audiences across Nigeria while using the country’s linguistic diversity as a tool for promoting peaceful coexistence and national integration.
The proposed partnership with FATSAM Advertising and Media Limited is expected to further strengthen the commercial side of the initiative.
The Managing Director of FATSAM, Abdulfatai Abdusalam, said the collaboration would create new opportunities for businesses, organisations and other stakeholders to showcase their products, services and programmes to wider audiences through ALU TV’s broadcast platforms.
He described effective advertising as essential to increasing brand visibility, expanding market penetration and connecting businesses with their target consumers.
Abdusalam stressed that the programmes to be produced and sponsored under the partnership would remain non-political and non-religious, with emphasis on unity, stability and economic development.
“They are aimed at boosting unity, stability and economic development of Sokoto State and Nigeria in general,” he said.
The visit also featured multilingual presentations in Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo by Bashir Rabe Mani, Mustapha Olatunde and Sandra Ogechi Nwabueze, respectively.
The presentations highlighted the potential of multilingual broadcasting to bridge cultural and linguistic gaps while providing advertisers with access to Nigeria’s diverse consumer market.
Both organisations expressed optimism that the partnership would expand advertising opportunities, deepen engagement between the media and business communities, and support socio-economic development in Sokoto State and across Nigeria.
