FNPH Kaduna Medical Director, Prof. Aishatu Armiya’u, Nominated for 2026 Federal DEI Award

The Medical Director of the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital (FNPH), Kaduna, Prof. Aishatu Yusha’u Armiya’u, has been nominated for the 2026 Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Award by the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.

The nomination is part of the 2026 Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) Rewards and Recognition Awards, which recognise outstanding contributions within the federal public service.

The awards ceremony was held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Saturday, August 15, 2026.

In a special bulletin, Volume 11, issued by the management of FNPH Kaduna, the hospital congratulated Prof. Armiya’u on the nomination, describing it as a recognition of her commitment to promoting fairness, inclusiveness, mutual respect and equal opportunities for staff and patients.

The management said the nomination reflected Prof. Armiya’u’s efforts to promote diversity and inclusion within the hospital.

> “This nomination is a significant recognition of Prof. Armiya’u’s commitment to managing diversity and fostering fairness, inclusiveness, mutual respect, and equal opportunity for ALL in the FNPH, Kaduna,” the bulletin stated.

According to the hospital management, FNPH Kaduna has recorded significant milestones under Prof. Armiya’u’s leadership in creating an institutional environment that promotes equity, dignity, respect and inclusion.

“There is no doubt that the FNPH, Kaduna, under her leadership, recorded significant milestones in terms of creating an environment that reflects the values of equity, dignity, respect, and inclusion in a federal institution,” it added.

The management also said her second term as Medical Director represents a renewed commitment to strengthening diversity as a source of institutional growth, innovation and improved service delivery.

It stated that the hospital would continue to build on the progress recorded under her leadership while promoting an inclusive environment for both staff and patients.

“As we celebrate this recognition, we are further encouraged by the fact that her second tenure as Medical Director of the FNPH, Kaduna represents a renewed commitment to ensuring that our diversity shall remain a major source of strength, innovation and improved service delivery,” the management said.

The hospital concluded the bulletin by congratulating Prof. Armiya’u on the recognition.
